US News & World Report basis their MBA Rankings on three major categories that are weighted as follows:
40% - Quality Assessment
35% - Placement Success
25% - Student Selectivity
These categories are further broken down as follows:
Quality Assessment:
25% - Peer Assessment - US News basically surveys business school deans and asks them to rate other business schools.
15% - Recruiter Assessment - Companies that have hired graduates from previously ranked programs are asked to evaluate business schools.
Placement Success:
14% - Mean Compensation and Bonus
21% - Employment Rates
Student Selectivity:
16.25% - Mean GMAT Scores
7.5% - Undergraduate GPA
1.25% - Acceptance Rate
