The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business or AACSB is a not-for-profit accrediting agency for business programs, including undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. Started in 1916 by seventeen top US business schools, the AACSB’s mission is to improve business programs in the US and around the world.
The AACSB has a rigorous accreditation process and recognition as an AACSB accredited school is considered a "seal of quality". Less than 1/3 of US business school and less than 15% of business schools world-wide are accredited by the AACSB. AACSB accredited schools undergo a peer-review process to be accredited and accreditation must be maintained. Schools must prepare annual reports and undergo reviews from the AACSB every five years.
