Finished taking my exam and as I predicted, the quant section was low. I think I did very well on the essays and the verbal was mid-range. I need to study more next time. I just feel very discouraged right now. I usually do well on tests. I wish I did not send these reports out to my selected schools, but maybe they will overlook it for now. Practice, practice, and prepare.

hey
Sorry to hear about ur GMAT. Don't worry. It happens with many. Try again...
Know how you feel.
I'm so sorry to hear about your results. I think I'm in the same boat as you. I'm studying my butt off every night and really struggling with the quant part. I mean I completely don't even understand the ratio problems I was trying to do last night. I take my real test on the 5th of May. I'm not going to send my results to anyone because I'm sure I'll have to take it again. And if I do do well - I'll be surprised and I'll pay the little bit extra to send them then.
But it's so frustrating when you try so hard and your score barely moves. I've been studying 2-3 hours for 5 days a week and my score jumped up only 30 points in two weeks. And with that score - I don't think an online school would take me!!!
So I'm with you - I feel your pain!! But we can do it!! :)
thank you - yes, i am
thank you - yes, i am preparing to take it again. i felt bad at first, but at least i know now what i need to work on again.
thank you, itobean! i notice
thank you, itobean! i notice that your test is tomorrow - good luck to you, too. it's very important to take the two 10 minute breaks they give you, even if you don't think you need it. i skipped my second one (i thought it would "distract" em), and i also tend to be restless and impatient, so i really need to go back and review the problems and figure out each concept. i think i might take the whole summer to study, then retake the exam in august.
write to me again and best of luck!
Hello!
Yep, I'm retaking the test July 14th. It was a real struggle for me in the testing center because it was so quiet. I'm not used to that!! I've always studied with music on so that was really odd to me.
I'm studying again...this time I put together a study schedule....now if I can just stick to it!
I feel you..
I took my first shot at the GMAT this week and man- what a blow. I am going to put my shoulder back the grindstone though and try again. Get this- I scored in the 98th percentile in the verbal with 15 minutes to spare, and scored in the 27th percentile ( !!!!!!!!! ) in the quant. I aced econometircs and calculus in undergrad- I know I can do it. And yes, I really have discalcula!!
Also, a friend recommended that I try to recreate the environment of the test center while I study, and that worked well for me (on half the test) :).
